Thank You Voters!
Message from the Superintendent:
I would like to thank everyone for their hard work on our outstanding bond issue victory yesterday. I kept hearing over and over that in this economy that it would take a miracle to be successful. Over 5300 personal contacts (individual phone calls or door to door visits) were made by our staff members, parents, and other community members. I am sure that this grassroots movement made the difference. With everyone working together, anything is possible.
The Beavercreek Bond Issue is
a NECESSITY!
The needs aren’t going to go away - if we don’t fix it now,
it will be much more expensive later. The issue is for:
We get a lot for our investment.1. CRITICAL renovations to maintain our current buildings - HVAC, electrical, safety, walls, roofs, windows
2. ENOUGH SPACE for the 1,200 students we are already overcapacity, and some expected growth
- So principals don’t have to panic every time it rains
- So we can rest assured that in an emergency we can lock down our buildings
- So electrical systems will handle the technology our students need – without creating a fire hazard or overloading the circuits
So we can count on these buildings to continue to be solid and sound for education!
- So we can move kids out of expensive trailers and back into school buildings, with proper security and resources
- So students can sit at tables to eat instead of the floor
- So gym classes don’t have to take place on the stage
- So we can reclaim the closets, washrooms and other spaces that we’ve had to convert to classrooms
- So fewer teachers have to teach from a traveling cart
- So class sizes can better reflect students’ need for personal attention
